On the tracks of Harry Lime - "The Third Man"

Thursday, August 25, 2011 at 09:00 am

Graham Greene provided the basis for Carol Reed's classic film "The Third Man", which is set in post-war Vienna. On this tour, you will get to see many of the spots shown in the film, e.g. Josefsplatz and Café Mozart near Albertina, which however only served as a setting but was not used as a location during shooting. Afterwards, we continue to the Mölkerbastei, which is part of the original city wall, and to the church Maria am Gestade on Passauerplatz.  On "Am Hof" square, you may be disappointed that the kiosk which is so important in the movie is no longer there.  We then walk to Café Marc Aurel, where Holly Martins lures Harry Lime, although two settings were combined to create this scene in the movie.

Duration: 2,5 hours (walking)
Price: 20,00 EUR per person

Please note that this tour is NOT a underground sewage water system tour! Due to safety reasons sewage water system tours are only done by the local department of Vienna Sewage.
An underground sewage water system tour can be added at the end of the walking tour (Entrance Fee: EUR 7,00  per person - reservation necessary!)
